In addition, the Lodge has increased its growing capacity in the resort’s greenhouse to grow locally where we can. Dark Sky Preserve

Jasper National Park is the world’s largest accessible dark sky preserve in the world! Protecting our night sky from light pollution is extremely important to us which is why we have taken the following actions to reduce our energy consumption: We have committed to replacing all of our street lights to dark sky certified fixtures; having already converted the area around the Main Lodge, dining outlets host candle-lit dining experiences every Earth Hour and Earth Day, and we encourage all Heartists to remain energy-conscious at home and in the workplace throughout the year through the Power Down Campaign.

FireSmart Canada

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge have invested significant capital resources to remove major fire hazards around the hotel and surrounding property. Our passionate colleagues have also came together to conduct annual property and lake shore clean-ups to keep the property safe and clean for wildlife and guests. The resort participates in the FireSmart Safe Neighbourhood Program to further its commitment of keeping its communities safe from wildfires.

Single Use Plastic Reduction

The resort has made significant strides to reduce single-use plastic consumption, having eliminated all plastic straws, plastic cups and plastic water bottles from our operations. Accor has committed that all properties worldwide will eliminate all guest-facing single-use plastic by the end of 2022. With Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s state-of-the-art water treatment plant filtering glacier water directly from Lac Beauvert, guests and staff are encouraged to quench their thirst with some of the cleanest water in the world straight from our tap.

Net-zero Carbon Calculator

Accor’s Net-Zero Carbon Calculator helps Meeting & Event clients to calculate their carbon footprint and offset emissions by purchasing carbon credits to balance the remaining emissions.
